Analysing Fonts

This font gives the effect that something has scrathched into it. Parts of the letters arent there so they look damanged. The audience may like this because it may give a connection to the film. The audeince can get a clue to what the film is about; you ask yourself is this film going to leave you damanged like the text, or damange the charcters.


This one istead of a normal font being scatched into gives the effect it itself has been scratched. This can suggest that sharp objects are present such as blades.

Opening Credits

Opening titles can include everyone that contributed to whole of a film. Some such as 'The Godfather' have no titles. However people that could be included in the opening titles when I researched were:

Still my favourite opening title sequence is se7en as shown below. This gives you an example also of people that are included in the titles.

Font Research

Here I have experimented different fonts with out movie title to see which our group will like best. After researching into horror movie title fonts, I have found that the font should reflect the type of movie it is. The first two fonts our are favourites for the main titles at the moment. Because or films is about this imaginary friend Maddison we think the first one looks as if the have scribbled it or you could also think that it has been scratched into something. Basically giving it a child like feel but still a scary aspect not like for example just a child-like font like comic sans. The second font reminds us of a child's painting effect. I also like that the font is quite bold so it stands out.

In horror films the fonts used can either be very outstanding and link to the film. Where as others will just use very simple texts to keep the attention on what is happening.


 

After researching and looking at different fonts used in the tiles I like how the main title is something that links to the film and gives you a general clue to what it is about. Where as while of the rest of the titles come up i like how they are simple and clear like in the ones below.

Location Planning

We plan to do the filming at my house and in my village. We will also be using the Medical Room at school as previously looked into on my blog.

The yellowish house in this Google maps is my house and opposite where the telephone box is and benches is also where we are going to do some of the filming.

Location Research

Horror Film Locations can vary from more conventional places such as grave yards and haunted houses to what are known as suburban houses. The use of a suburban house is a modern convention, and modern audiences. Audiences can relate more to this location, as this is where they live. This is a must for our film as we want our audience to feel for the character Scarlett. It makes the whole situation feel more realistic.

This was the house used for filming Paranormal Activity. The use of a suburban house (normal house) creates more fear in the audience as it feels realistic. They may feel as if it is more likely to happen to them as they can relate to the location.
